Few manga get the milestone and distinction of reaching 50 volumes. Now, Yasuhisa Hara’s Kingdom manga is about to be one of them, as it is about to release Volume 50 later this month. However, that’s not the only thing it’s celebrating. This is because it’s also getting its own live-action film adaptation as well.

Hara himself will be working on the film’s screenplay, but they didn’t reveal any further details. This includes its the cast, staff, and release date. However, do expect that the staff will be revealing more on the film soon. Here’s how Crunchyroll, which streamed the TV anime adaptation online, describes Kingdom’s story:

Shin and Hyou are war-orphans in the kingdom of Qin. They dream of proving themselves on the battlefield until the day Hyou is captured by a minister. The boy manages to escape and return to his village, but he is badly injured. Shin then meets a mysterious youth who bears an eerie resemblance to Hyou—a boy who will one day become emperor!

Pierrot animated the TV anime from 2012 – 2014. As for Kingdom’s Volume 50 release, it’s hitting the shelves on 19th April. Who knows? Maybe they will reveal more details about the film upon release.
