Hollywood industry portal Deadline has revealed that Global Road Entertainment is bringing the hit Japanese anime TV series “Tiger & Bunny” to the silver screen. Global Road Entertainment has commmited to a $1B production budget, partnering with Bandai Namco Pictures, Imagine Entertainment, and Weed Road Pictures on the feature film.

The Hollywood film adaptation’s sceenplay will be written by Ellen Shanman and produced by Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer, Ron Howard and Erica Huggins, Bandai Namco Pictures’ Masayuki Ozaki, and Weed Road Pictures’ Akiva Goldsman.

“Tiger & Bunny” first aired in 2011, and was produced by Sunrise under the direction of Keiichi Satou. The screenplay was written by Masafumi Nishida, while original character designs were by Masakazu Katsura. The series was memorable to many fans for featuring product placement from real world brands such as Pepsi, Bandai, Amazon Japan, SoftBank, and Domino’s Pizza.
