Before it even received an anime adaptation, Satoru Noda’s Golden Kamuy manga already has several manga awards under its belt. And now, it has added a new prestigious award to its list, and that is the Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize’s Grand Prize.

The manga has already won the Manga Taisho Award earlier this year, and also has many others. It also received much ciritical acclaim, as well as a new TV anime which is now airing for spring 2018.

The awards chooses titles and creators are chosen in four categories as outstanding examples of Japanese comics. Aside from the Grand Prize winner, the other winners also include:

New Creator Prize: BEASTARS by Paru Itagaki

Short Work Prize: Oya-san to Boku by Taro Yabe

Special Prize: Hinemosu-Notari-Nikki by Tetsuya Chiba

They will be holding the awarding ceremony for the 22nd Annual Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize on 7th June. The Hamarikyu Asahi Hall in Tokyo will be hosting the event, with several notable manga industry figures attending.
