Two Japanese icons are teaming up for one very special collaboration, as Sanrio and West Japan Railway Company team up for the official Hello Kitty Shinkansen. And now, they’ve finally revealed new details about this much-anticipated collaboration. This includes the carriages’ pink and white color scheme, which of course, is Hello Kitty’s own colors. Hey, it even has its own pastel ribbon!

Like the Type-500 Eva Shinkansen, the Hello Kitty Shinkansen will also feature its own special cars. To be exact, the first train car will feature the “Hello Plaza”. It will feature a pastel pink interior, with polka dots, stripes, ribbon and bow accents, as well as the crew wearing Hello Kitty uniforms. Passengers can take a break, relax, and even buy some exclusive collaboration merchandise.

They can also purchase regional-exclusive goods, as well as watch videos promoting various areas in western Japan. The first car will also feature various campaigns. The first one is the “San’in Destination Campaign“, which will showcase the prefectures of Shimane and Tottori in the San’in region until September. It will then feature Yamaguchi, before also featuring Osaka, Hyogo, Okayama, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka prefectures.

Meanwhile, the second car will feature the “Kawaii Room”. It will feature a comfortable passenger seating area with pink Hello Kitty armrests, and decorated windows and floors, as well as headrests with Hello Kitty prints. It also features a  dedicated “photo spot” for passengers to take photos of themselves.

The train will also feature other  campaigns like “stamp rallies”. As for what to expect, the collaboration’s official YouTube channel released this video:

These trains will run for a limited time, starting 30th June. To find out more about the train schedule and ticket purchasing, check out the special website here.
