After eight years of waiting, Capcom is finally releasing a new main line Mega Man game titled Mega Man 11. And now, Capcom’s official Mega Man website has revealed new details on the game’s pre-order via a new trailer. But the video doesn’t just talk about the pre-order, but the game’s official release date as well.

As the video reveals, Capcom will release Mega Man 11 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and of course, PC. They will do so on 2 October 2018. However, the Japanese version of the video lists the release on 4th October.

For the pre-order, the videos reveal that those who pre-order will receive an in-game soundtrack with eight alternative instrumental piano themes. As for the Switch release, they will have an Amiibo edition, which contains the following goodies:

  • Full Game
  • amiibo Mega Man (Mega Man Series)
  • Dr. Wily Logo Adhesive Sticker
  • Stage Select Microfiber Cloth
  • Set of 4 Colorful Stickers – Logo, Mega Man, Rush, Dr. Wily

Here’s how Capcom describes the new game:

The newest entry in this iconic series blends classic, challenging 2D platforming action with a fresh look. The stunning new visual style refreshes the series’ iconic colorfulness, combining hand-drawn environments with detailed, 3D characters.

To save the day, the Blue Bomber must battle Robot Masters and take their powerful weapons for himself, which now changes the hero’s appearance with new levels of detail. The innovative new Double Gear system lets you boost Mega Man’s speed and power for a new twist on the satisfying gameplay the series is known for.

A variety of difficulty modes makes this the perfect opportunity to experience Mega Man for the first time! Mega Man 11 also features a variety of extra modes including time trials, missions, global leaderboards, a gallery of concept art, and more!

This will be the first main line Mega Man game since 2010’s Mega Man 10. And it’s pretty safe to say that fans are really excited for this one, since many of them really miss the Blue Bomber.
