After the success of their first Rurouni Kenshin live-action musical, yet another live-action stage play is in the works. The Takarazuka Revue’s Yuki-gumi (Snow Troupe) first held a musical based on Nobuhiro Watsuki’s bestselling manga back in 2016. And now, a second stage play will be premiering in Japan later this year.

Former Takarazuka Revue star, Seina Sagiri, who played the protagonist Kenshin Himura in the 2016 musical, will be reprising her role. Here she is as the man formerly known as Battousai the Slasher in the 2016 musical’s DVD release:

Shuichiro Koike, who also worked on the 2016 musical, is returning as the play’s writer and director. Meanwhile, they also announced the other cast members, who are appearing alongside Seina Sagiri:

  • Moka Kamishiraishi as Kaoru Kamiya
  • Yusuke Hirose as Hajime Saito
  • Ryosuke Miura as Aoshi Shinomori
  • Ryuji Kamiyama as Kanryu Takeda
  • Mitsuru Matsuoaka as Sozaburo Kanou

They will first hold the play in Tokyo’s Shinbashi Enbujo from 10th October to 7th November. It will then hit Osaka Shochikuza in Osaka from 15th-24th November. As for the Advance Tickets, they will go on sale starting 28th July.
