Mika Nakashima (of “NANA” fame) will be releasing her newest single “KISS OF DEATH” on 27th June 2018! The single is also the opening theme song of current hit anime “Darling in the Franxx”. “KISS OF DEATH” is produced by HYDE of L’Arc~en~Ciel; HYDE has also collaborated with Nakashima for “NANA”.

To celebrate the release, “Darling in the Franxx” Kentaro Yabuki (who also wrote “To Love-Ru”) created a one-of-a-kind collaboration illustration, featuring Nakashima and “Darling in the Franxx” female lead Zero Two. The illustration was released with the 18th chapter of the “Darling in the Franxx” manga, serialized on Jump+.

Darling in the Franxx is a 2018 Japanese science fiction animated television series that premiered on 13th January 2018, with a manga adaptation released alongside by Kentaro Yabuki. It tells the story of Hiro, former pilot-candidate prodigy, can no longer synchronize with his partner and they both fail to complete the training program to control massive defensive mecha called Franxx. Hiro encounters Zero Two, an infamous Franxx pilot with red horns and a mysterious past, and Hiro volunteers to become her new partner or “darling.”

Mika Nakashima is one of Japan’s most popular singer-actresses. Seven out of her twenty one albums reached the #1 spot on Japan’s Oricon album charts. Her best known acting role is one of the two lead characters in the film adaptation of Ai Yazawa’s highly popular manga “NANA”. As Nana Osaki, she rose to international prominence, and her popularity led to the filming of the sequel “NANA 2”.
