After almost 10 months of being out, Hiromu Arakawa’s Silver Spoon manga is finally returning from hiatus. This is because Weekly Shonen Sunday’s latest issue has announced that the manga will return with a brand new chapter. According to the magazine’s announcement, the next issue will include this new chapter. It will hit the shelves on 23 May 2018.
In July of last year, the manga went back on hiatus after just three chapters from returning from a different long hiatus. This is just latest in a series of hiatuses, which started with an 8-month hiatus, with the manga returning last January 2016, only to return to hiatus in February. The manga then came back from a 6-month hiatus last 31st August, before going on this latest hiatus.
Arakawa has previously said that she’s planning on ending the series already. However, due to these frequent hiatuses, it seems that it has only prolonged the manga. One of the main reasons for her hiatuses is because she has to take care of a sick relative.
