The Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3 as it’s more commonly known, is a little over a month away and game companies are slowly announcing their involvement in gaming’s biggest event of the year.

Square Enix is also getting in on the act announcing their stage showcase slated for the 11th of June at 1 am SGT. But want can we expect from the Japanese juggernaut? Here’s a quick run down of what we’d like to see Square Enix announce at this year’s Expo.

1. Final Fantasy VII Remake

This has been a long time coming. Since its announcement at E3 2015, hype and speculation has been building for this much beloved game. And if rumors are to be believed, fans will be left waiting for quite a bit longer. However Square Enix could keep interest in the game up by showcasing some gameplay or by showing off a new trailer.

2. Kingdom Hearts III (KH 3)

Like Final Fantasy VII, this is another fan favorite set to disappoint at E3 2018, with rumors swirling that as far as Final Fantasy is from completion, it is still further ahead than KH 3 in some aspects. With new worlds set in some of Disney’s most successful franchises in recent history, like Monsters Inc, Toy Story, and Tangled. Square Enix could show off new worlds, or less likely announce a release window.

3. Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Set to be released later this year, Shadow of the Tomb Raider follows the event of the prequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider, chronicling Lara Croft’s rise to prominence as a world renown treasure hunter. We expect to see more of the game at E3, be it in a trailer or demo on the show floor.

4. Avengers

In January last year, Square Enix announced a multi-title contract to produce games based on Marvel’s popular Avengers series. With the success of the recent Infinity Wars, we can expect Square Enix to ride the wave, and we could see some of the biggest superheroes in the world make hotly anticipated their return to AAA games.

5. Dragon Quest XI

Yet another game with a finalized release date, Dragon Quest XI, will be making it’s way to Western PS4s and Windows PC in September. This popular franchise may also see its release date for the Switch announced at the conference, coupled with new trailers, and gameplay footage.
