The pop music scene is often awash with wannabes who can barely carry a tune — let alone play an instrument, which is why the lovely and talented Shiena Nishizawa is such a breath of fresh air! She stomps in with her amazing vocals and passionate guitar-playing, breaking your fate from bad boy bands and talentless Japanese “talento”!

Shiena fell in love with music in middle school, when she laid hands on her father’s old guitar; that interest expanded from not just guitar, but also into singing/songwriting. In 2014, she won the grand prize at the Flying Dog Audition (a popular singing contest). In 2015 her debut song, “Fubuki”, was the ending theme for the television anime “Fleet Girls Collection (KanColle)”; she was only 17 at the time.

Her sophomore attempt was likewise a massive success, having been selected as the theme song of the TV anime series “The Asterisk War”. The tracks Shiena produced for the show are some of her most viral hits, garnering over 8 million views on Youtube! On 15th March 2017, Shiena released her first full-length album, entitled “Break Your Fate”. A class live act, Shiena has toured extensively in Japan to promote the album.

Shiena has recently completed an Asian circuit — performing in Jakarta, Manila, Singapore, and most recently in Hong Kong in February 2018. Her fifth single “Love Men Holic” was released on 21st February 2018, and the song is used as the ending theme of the TV anime series “Ms. Koizumi Loves Ramen”. Shiena even did a fun ramen-themed video with famous shop Mōkotanmen Nakamoto for the song!

For more exciting recent news, Shiena will be releasing a brand new double-A-side single this 27th June 2018! Titled “Meteor/New Generation”, both tracks have also been selected as the insert songs for the upcoming anime by Macross director Shouji Kawamori entitled “Juushinki Pandora” (Heavy Divine Unit Pandora).

Last but not least, you can catch her TODAY at Natsu Rock, a rocking Japanese music festival at Zepp@BIGBOX in Singapore! Shiena joins a stellar line up that also features the hard-rocking BAND-MAID, the evergeen Do as Infinity, and the revolutionary DJ Kazu. Tickets are still available, so see you guys there!
