Gintoki and the gang are back for a new teaser trailer for the upcoming Gintama 2 live-action film. And as usual, they’ve shown their usual antics, with plenty of apologies as well.

The video features 3DCG versions of Shinpachi, Gintoki, and Kagura, as well as Sadaharu. They start things off with a clip from the first film, and apologised about a line from the movie. And while this is the second live-action Gintama film, Gintoki claims in the video that it’s the first live-action Gintama film. He also said that it’s the last film as well. And because of this claim, the video featured a verbal and text apology regarding what he said.

Masaki Suda and Kanna Hashimoto are reprising their roles as Shinpachi Shimura and Kagura respectively. Meanwhile, Shun Oguri is also coming back as the one and only Gintoki Sakata. Finally, Jiro Sato will also be returning from the first film, but this time in a different and unspecified role. Masami Nagasawa returns as Tae Shimura, while Masaki Okada also returns as Kotarou Katsura. However, they did not specify if Takayuki Yamada is returning in Gintama 2 as Elizabeth. The film will premiere in Japan on 17th August.

The staff is still very secretive about the film’s other details. However, we do know that Yuuichi Fukuda is directing the film, which has already wrapped-up filming. Yeah, they’re certainly planning something big with this much secrecy happening. However, since this is Gintama, they might just be trolling… as usual.
