Tsuyoshi Konoike’s manga “Himo Men” (Kept Men), about a guy who loves his girlfriend but at the same time refuses to become a more responsible adult, will be getting a drama adaptation this July via TV Asahi. The drama will star Masataka Kubota as the eponymous “himo man”, and Haruna Kawaguchi will play his long-suffering girlfriend.
Masataka Kubota is best known for his roles as Light Yagami in “Death Note” (TV drama) and Ken Kaneki in “Tokyo Ghoul” (feature film). Haruna Kawaguchi is best known for playing the lead in Haruhi Fujioka in “Ouran High School Host Club” (feature film) and Kaori Fujimiya in “One Week Friends” (feature film).
Tsuyoshi Konoike’s “Himo Men” tells the story of Sho Himonya, who is a good-for-nothing lazybones who refuses to work for a living like a responsible adult. When his parents get fed up and kick him out of the house, he moves in with his hardworking girlfriend Yuriko Haruna.
Yuriko now has to struggle to make ends meet for both herself and Sho. And while Sho and Yuriko love each other very much, Yuriko understandably tries her best to make Sho change his ways.
