Naruto vs Sasuke is one of the most legendary rivalries in all of anime and manga. And now, the traditional Japanese art of Kabuki will be portraying that very rivalry. And with the Naruto Kabuki adaptation drawing ever closer, the staff released a new commercial to tease that rivalry.

Aside from Naruto and Sasuke’s legendary conflict, the video also teases the play’s theme song. The eight-member Japanese rock band, Wagakki Band, is perdforming the theme song, which is also titled “Tenjyou no Kanata” or “Beyond the heaven”.

Minosuke Bandou will be playing Naruto Uzumaki, while Hayato Nakamura is playing Sasuke Uchiha. Meanwhile, Kabuki playwright, G2, will be writing and directing this traditional Japanese stage play. It will also star One Piece Kabuki’s Ichikawa Ennosuke IV, who previously played Luffy, as Madara Uchiha. He will be playing the role of Madara alternately with Ainosuke Kataoka.

The Shinbashi Enbujou theater in Tokyo will be showing a unique Naruto stage performance using traditional Kabuki elements. They will run the Kabuki play starting August 2018. The staff still haven’t revealed any further details for this new manga-based Kabuki play yet, so expect more announcements soon.

Fellow Jump manga, One Piece, also has a Kabuki play, and it starred Ennosuke Ichikawa IV as Luffy. However, the Kabuki actor stepped down from his role as Luffy after an accident onstage.
