First Doraemon, then Haro, and now Pikachu — yes, there is definitely a pattern emerging. Takara Tomy will be releasing a Pikachu robot this 4th August called — you guessed it! — “Nee, Hello Pika”!

The “Nee, Hello Pika” kids robot will measure about 10 cm long, making it the perfect pal at home or on the go.

It will respond to several different voice commands, such as saying its name or even commanding it to attack a hapless passerby with a 100,000 volt shock!

It will not, however, interface with your smartphone to balance your checkbook, but at a JPY 3,229 price point it should be fine.

“Nee Hello Pika” is available now via the Takara Tomy Mall, and will be released in August 2018. And if you guys manage to hack it so it can be controlled by a smartphone, please give us a call — we want one!
