Even though the Playstation 4 is nearing the end of its cycle, there’s no reason to junk your console just yet, because NekoAtsumeVR just came out in Japan yesterday 31st May 2018! Japanese players who uploaded videos on Twitter via PS4 share have shown that NekoAtsumeVR is just absolutely, mindbendingly cute!
VR pic.twitter.com/5KIIKpTCVi

Like it says on the tin, NekoAtsumeVR is the PS4 VR port (upgrade?) of the popular smartphone game NekoAtsume (literally “Cat Collector”). The game mechanics work out similarly to the smartphone version, where you leave food and toys and hope that the itinerant cats show up. The VR version has the added bonus of virtual interactions with the cute kitties — that right there is the reason I would throw JPY 1,944 at this game right now.
