Surreal 4-koma comic and anime series POP TEAM EPIC is no stranger to unusual tie-ups, which is exactly what this collaboration with the Japan Racing Association is! The all-new POP TEAM EPIC x JRA shorts are streaming now on the JRA website, and feature Mikako Komatsu/Ryusei Nakao as Popuko and Sumire Uesaka/Norio Wakamoto as Pipimi.

The animated shorts were created after a huge milestone by the first POP TEAM EPIC x JRA collaboration announced in April 2018. The JRA hosted a character-creation page where fans could create recreate themselves, or create entirely new characters, using visual elements from POP TEAM EPIC. The app has had over one million submissions so far, and the winning entries were featured in the new animated shorts.

POP TEAM EPIC is a 4-koma comedy web manga series written and illustrated by Bkub Ookawa. The story generally follows the weird and wacky adventures of two girls named Popuko and Pipimi. An anime adaptation was released earlier this year, and introduces the formula of two identical shorts voiced by two different sets of seiyuu.
