In Gintama, just about anything can happen. Of course, this includes breaking the 4th Wall, as well as a ton of references to other anime franchises. And for Gintama 2, it seems that we’ll be able to see actors Masaki Suda and Shun Oguri in drag. The staff recently released a new behind-the-scenes video, and it features Gintoki (Oguri) and Shinpachi (Suda) as Chabajyou (bar hostesses). The clip then ends by saying that it’s really “unattractive”.

Aside from the behind-the-scenes video, the film’s staff also revealed a new 15-second CM:

And as it turns out, it won’t just be following one arc from the manga, but two! According to staff, it will follow the “Shinsengumi Crisis” and the “Shogun Reception” arcs.

Masaki Suda and Kanna Hashimoto are reprising their roles as Shinpachi Shimura and Kagura respectively. Meanwhile, Shun Oguri is also coming back as the one and only Gintoki Sakata. Masami Nagasawa returns as Tae Shimura, while Masaki Okada also returns as Kotarou Katsura. The film will premiere in Japan on 17th August.
