As previously reported, “Hataraku Saibou” (lit. “Cells at Work!”) – the popular manga series written and illustrated by Akane Shimizu about hardworking anthromorphised cells within the human body – is getting a live-action theatrical production. And they have just revealed main casts’ visuals via their official Twitter and website this week!

Titled “Tainai Katsugeki ~ Hataraku Saibou!” (lit. “Anatomical Live-action ~ Cells at Work!”), the two main casts – newbie Erythrocyte (Red Blood Cell) #AE3803 played by model-talent Kanon Nanaki (front); and Neutrophil (White Blood Cell) #1146 played by popular 2.5D star Masanari Wada (back) are pictured in the characters’ signature poses in the visual.

Theatrical Stage “Anatomical Live-action ~ Cells at Work!” will be directed by Tsuyoshi Kida – an Osaka-borne playwright and director known for his works with various “Masked Rider” series; as well as the “10th Anniversary Memorial Stage Production Rock Musical Bleach” in 2011. Scriptwriting for the stage production will be undertaken by media writer Keita Kawajiri.

Actors/actresses for other casts will be gradually announced at later dates. The theatrical production will commence performance runs in November; advanced ticket sales will commence on 8 August 2018 and fans are encouraged to stay tuned for more detailed updates with their official social media.
