The live-action Bleach film will be having plenty of huge and exciting battles. Of course, one of them is when Ichigo and Uryuu take on Byakuya in an all-out battle. And to further whet the fans’ appetites, Warner Bros. Japan released a special behind-the-scenes look at that very battle.

The behind-the-scenes video also featured the three actors, Souta Fukushi (Ichigo), Ryo Yoshizawa (Uryu), and MIYAVI (Byakuya), talk about this huge battle scene. Fukushi stated that when he learned that Miyavi is joining the cast as Byakuya,he thought that this would really be a world-class film. Meanwhile, Yoshizawa said that this is his first time working on such a huge set, so he’s excited. Finally. MIYAVI himself said that the film is unique and was also an important experience for him. He then added that he’s very happy that the entire team worked together as one.

As previously revealed, the film will star Souta Fukushi as Ichigo, as well as actress Hana Sigisaki as Rukia. Aside from acting as Rin in Blade of the Immortal, actress Hana Sugisaki also happens to be a seiyuu as well. This is because she also voiced Mary in Mary and The Witch’s Flower. But her seiyuu roles don’t just end there, as she also voiced Sayaka in Ghibli’s When Marnie Was There. Meanwhile, Ichigo Kurosaki’s actor, Souta Fukushi, previously played live-action Strobe Edge‘s Ren Ichinose and live-action Kami-sama no Iu Toori‘s Shun Takahata.

Other cast members include Ryou Yoshizawa, who recently appeared as Sougo Okita in the hilarious live-action Gintama film. Now, he’s playing the Quincy, Uryuu Ishida for the live-action Bleach film. Meanwhile, Taichi Saotome will be playing Rukia’s childhood friend, Renji Abarai. Saotome previously starred as Ryouhei Kagami in the CROWS Explode film. And speaking of Rukia, renowned Japanese musician, MIYAVI, will be playing her big brother, Byakuya Kuchiki.

Shinsuke Sato, who will be directing the film, is certainly no stranger to manga with connections to the afterlife. This is because he previously directed the two live-action Gantz films. The film’s story will follow the manga’s first major arc, which is the “Substitute Shinigami” arc. It will premiere on 20 July 2018.
