“City Hunter” is a Japanese manga series by Tsukasa Hojo which ran from 1985 to 1991 on Shueisha’s Jump Comics. The series follows the exploits of Ryo Saeba, a private detective living and working in Tokyo, with a penchant for fast cars and even faster women. When his partner is murdered, he reluctantly takes on his deceased partner’s sister in a bid to find the killer and solve crimes in the seedy underbelly of Tokyo.

“City Hunter” was adapted into four animated television series, three television specials, two original video animations, an animated feature film, a live-action Hong Kong film starring Jackie Chan, a Korean live action TV drama, a new Japanese live action TV drama, and a French live action movie — which, coincidentally will also be released on February 2019.
