Sonic the Hedgehog is one of the most iconic Japanese video game characters of all time. And now that he’s getting a live-action/3DCG Hollywood version, people have been asking who will be voicing him? Now, we finally know who, as Variety reports that actor Ben Schwartz (Parks And Recreation) will be voicing him.

Shwartz will be going up against legendary comedian, Jim Carrey, who will be playing Sonic’s archnemesis, Dr. Robotnik. He will also be joining previously-announced cast members James Marsden (Westworld) and Tika Sumpter. The actor has some voice acting experience, as he’s currently voicing Dewey in Disney Channel’s Duck Tales reboot.

Jeff Fowler will be directing this video game adaptation, with Neal Moritz, Mie Onishi and Tim Miller (Deadpool director) serving as producers. Paramount Pictures will then be distributing the film, which is based on Sega’s bestselling video game franchise. They’re looking to release the film by 15th November 2019. The film itself will be a hybrid live-action and 3DCG movie.
