The official website for the Code Geass franchise has finally updated. And this time, it reveals new details for the upcoming Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;Surrection anime. It turns out that it will be an anime film, and the staff emphasised that it will only have one film. They also unveiled a brand new trailer, along with a new key visual featuring C.C. and Zero’s mask.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection takes place several years after the events of Zero Requiem. When they announced the sequel, director Goro Taniguchi assured fans that this really is Lelouch. He then added that this isn’t an alternative version of him.

Of course, when the R2 TV anime ended, they heavily hinted that Lelouch was still alive (SPOILER WARNING). During the epilogue scene, CC seems to be talking to someone, and ended it with “right, Lelouch?”. Many fans reckoned that the man driving the cart is Lelouch. Whether it’s really him or not is still up to debate, but with the sequel anime coming up, who knows?

Goro Taniguchi is once again returning to the Code Geass franchise to direct the film over at Sunrise.
