Developed as a joint collaborative project between Otomate and Idea Factory/Design Factory, the popular fantasy-adventure dating-SIM series “Hakuouki” – the multi-media franchise that began as a game but branched out with its own manga, light-novels and anime series plus several animated movies adaptations as well as live-action musical adaptations – will see 10 successful years in 2018 since its inauguration launch in 2008 according to Nijimen.
To celebrate the occasion, the game developers have since been engaging in a variety of multiple collaborations with external partners – in the forms of ‘stage/setting-pilgrimage’ tourism campaigns, special collaborative merchandise releases/sales, themed cafes and restaurants, etc. Latest in the line of these commemorative collaborations is between the game series and fashion jewellery/ accessory brand “THE KISS” to launch a series of “Anniversary Jewellery”
This range of fashion jewellery consists of rings and necklaces crafted with base of K10 coral-pink gold – each with six varying types of representative precious gemstones encased. The six gemstones were chosen based on the respective image-colours of the six main playable characters in the original game series and they are:Toshizo Hijikata – pink tourmaline with amethyst (purple gem)
Toshizo Hijikata – pink tourmaline with amethyst (purple gem)
Souji Okita – pink tourmaline with emerald (deep-green gem)
Hajime Saito – pink tourmaline with sapphire (blue gem)
Heisuke Todou – pink tourmaline with yellow-sapphire (yellow gem)
Sanosuke Harada – pink tourmaline with garnet (red gem)
Chikage Kazama – pink tourmaline with diamond (colourless gem)
The rings retail at JPY 24,000 each and are available in sizes* 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15.
(*Ring size reference and conversion guide is available on the official international ring-size conversion chart )
The necklaces are designed with all-seasonal usage in mind and the simple but classy style with a single sakura blossom is suitably matching for all occasions. The chain is 42cm in full-length but can be adjustable to shorter lengths depending on the wearers’ preferences. The end-part of the chain has an iconic single sakura-petal charm attached (pictured below). The necklaces also retail at JPY 24,000 each.
