TBS has announced over the weekend during its “TBS Anime Festa 2018” event, that new original anime “Hoshiai no Sora” will be broadcast over the network in 2019. Kazuki Akane — who directed “Code Geass: Akito the Exiled” and “The Vision of Escaflowne”, will be directing “Hoshiai no Sora”. The series will be animated by 8-bit, whose works include “Infinite Stratos”, “Aquarion Evol”, “Encouragement of Climb”, and most recently “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime”.
“Hoshiai no Sora” revolves around the story of a middle school soft tennis club on the verge of being disbanded. Soft tennis is a form of tennis played with a soft rubber ball instead of a hard fuzzy ball, and is primarily played in Asia — particularly in Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, and the Philippines. The two main characters will be played by seiyuu Natsuki Hanae and Tasuku Hatanaka.
