MapleStory, a free-to-play side-scrolling MMORPG, has announced that the popular PC game will be collaborating with the hit anime series “Cardcaptor Sakura“! A special limited-time event featuring Sakura, Kero-chan, and other characters from the series will run from 29th August to 25th September 2018!
“Cardcaptor Sakura” ran as a manga series from 1996 to 2000, and later as a popular anime series. Twenty years after its debut, it returned with a manga sequel, “Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card”. It received a hugely positive reaction, and became an anime starting in 2018. Led by the Key of Dreams and clear cards, Sakura begins a new story! Sakura, who collected and transformed the “Clow Cards” (that would bring disaster to the world) into her own Sakura Cards, starts her first year in middle school one April filled with cherry blossoms.
She meets again with Syaoran (returning from Hong Kong) and they rejoice over going to school together, but soon afterwards something unexpected happens to the cards she collected! A series of strange events also occurs in Tomoeda town, and Sakura is drawn by the “Key” she encountered in her dream, and starts to collect the cards again. In the midst of it all, a new girl transfers to the class…
