All customers who have ordered the game will be refunded the full purchase amount, and will be given a RMB 30 voucher by way of apology. Refund claims must be filed on or before 20th August 2018, and customers who refuse the current refund scheme will not be guaranteed refunds or game service in the future.

Although no reason was specified for the stoppage of sales in China, “Monster Hunter World” was speculated to have “failed regulatory requirements stipulated by the Chinese government”. Both WeGame and Tencent have not made any comments if “Monster Hunter World” will eventually be offered for sale sometime in the future.
