It’s no secret that Japanese animation studios love featuring Singapore on their shows! From the always iconic “Cowboy Bebop” to the recent classic “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures”, there’s no shortage of shows that showcase the Little Red Dot at its best. In the spirit of National Day 2018, let’s watch a show that made waves earlier this year for its picture-perfect portrayal of modern-day Singapore: “A Place Further Than the Universe

“A Place Further than the Universe” tells the story of an eccentric Japanese schoolgirl who organizes an Antartic expedition, to find her mother who disappeared there three years ago. “A Place Further than the Universe” was produced by Madhouse, directed by Atsuko Ishizuka and written by Jukki Hanada. The show aired in Japan early this year, and is currently available in Singapore via Netflix.

Happy 53rd Birthday, Singapore!
