C3 AFA Jakarta 2018 is finally here! Held for thefirst time at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition from 31st August to 2nd September 2018, it’s Indonesia’s biggest anime, cosplay, and anisong event! Headlining the amazing I Love Anisong line-up is EGOIST, Ami Wajima, BAND-MAID, Mashiro Ayano, TRUE, and the hotly anticipated Megumi Nakajima!

Celebrating her 10th year in the business, the highly sought after singer and voice actress Megumi Nakajima is making her very first appearance in Indonesia at C3 AFA Jakarta 2018! Megumi has been busy promoting her latest double A-side single “Shiranai Kimochi/Bitter Sweet Harmony”, so we are very happy and honoured that she found the time to answer a few questions from WOW Japan!

Is this your first time in Indonesia? What are you looking forward to in Indonesia? Is there any Indonesian food you would like to try?

This is my first time! I do not have much time to visit, but I want to enjoy strolling around in the city and enjoying the atmosphere for a while. I would like to go to eat nasi goreng and authentic lumpia!

Congratulations on your 10th anniversary double tie up new single release “Shiranai Kimochi/Bitter Sweet Harmony”! Please share some thoughts about your latest release. What was the easiest thing about doing the single? What was the most challenging thing?

I was very happy that I could work with each wonderful creators such as livetune’s kz-san and shinrizumu-san for each song. The challenging part was the tight tone of my singing voice. I tried to find a way of singing according to suit my current age.

Do you do anything special to prepare before going onstage?

I do image training by imagining the audience in their seats. When I see the faces of the audience I feel very relieved.

Do you get nervous about performing new songs? Have you ever made a mistake? How do you deal with it?

I actually get very nervous. Since it becomes very hard to express myself during those times, I do my best to keep smiling.

Are there any specific genre of music that you want to try out?

I am interested in doing dance music, something uptempo and cool.

If there was one artiste you could do a collaboration with who would it be?

Seiko Matsuda. She is an eternal legend. Even once is enough — I just really want to meet her.

If you were not a musician, what kind of job would you have wanted?

I can not imagine it at all. I think that I’d like work in a studio and would have chosen a profession related to music.
