It’s time for C3 AFA Jakarta 2018! Set for the 31st of August until 2nd September 2018 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition, check out this year’s amazing line-up of anime, cosplay, gaming and anisong contents! Come see the I Love Anisong concerts featuring EGOIST, Ami Wajima, BAND-MAID, Mashiro Ayano, Megumi Nakajima, and the vocal powerhouse TRUE!
When you’ve already provided the theme songs for such modern classics as “Mobile Suite Gundam: Iron-blooded Orphans” and “Violet Evergarden”, what else do you do? Well, for TRUE, she decides to play it tongue-in-cheek by collaborating with the upcoming comedy “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime”! TRUE has been gracious enough to talk to WOW Japan about her upcoming single, as well as her impending performance at C3 AFA Jakarta 2018!
Is this your first time in Indonesia? What are you looking forward to in Indonesia? Is there any Indonesian food you would like to try?
It’s my first time! I am looking forward to seeing what anime is popular in Indonesia, maybe have a look at the booths during the event. If you see me at the venue, please come say hello! Also, I want to eat local food such as authentic nasi goreng. Saya menantikannya!!!
Congratulations on your upcoming single “Another colony”! Please share some thoughts about your latest release. What was the easiest thing about doing the single? What was the most challenging thing?
I am happy to be involved as the end theme artiste of an upcoming title. I think that it will be conveyed to everyone reading the source material, that it’s a powerful song that says “I will not lose to anyone!”. For myself personally, so many things have changed around me, and it has also become an anthem of determination created with fresh feelings. For the song to be a work loved by people all over the world — not only in Japan, I will sing it with all my heart!
Do you get nervous about performing new songs? Have you ever made a mistake? How do you deal with it?
I am very nervous! So that the tension blows away, I get staff member to hit me in the back. I also imagine myself succeeding at my task. But I definitely still feel nervous after all…! Please watch over me at the venue so that I can perform well as usual!!!
Do you do anything special to prepare before going onstage?
I have an energy drink (MONSTER). I also do some elaborate vocalization and some stretching.
Are there any specific genre of music that you want to try out?
I think that my new single “another colony” is a challenge at a new genre.
If there was one artiste you could do a collaboration with who would it be?
If you were not a musician, what kind of job would you have wanted?
I have also worked as a songwriter (under my name Miho Karasawa), and I think that I would be making anime songs as behind the scenes staff, if I wasn’t doing what I do today.
Lastly, please leave a message for your fans in Indonesia.
It’s my first concert in Indonesia! To everyone who has supported me so far, I will sing my best to express my gratitude! Let’s get pumped up together!
