Makoto Shinkai’s your name. is one of Japan’s most successful animated films. And now, Kadokawa has released an audio book edition of the film’s novelisation, which Shinkai wrote himself. This also serves as the first entry for Amazon’s new  “Makoto Shinkai Novel Audiobook Project.”. In fact, here’s a sample audio of the audio book:

If that voice sounds familiar, that’s because it’s the one and only Romi Park (Fullmetal Alchemist’s Edward Elric) who’s narrating it.

So far, Kadokawa and Amazon have only released the audio book for your name. However, they’re planning to release more Makoto Shinkai audio novels as part of the series soon. These include “5 Centimeters per Second”, “The Garden of Words”, and “Your Name. Another Side: Earthbound”.

They will also be announcing the voice cast for the other audio books as well. As for their releases, Amazon will be revealing more details about these releases soon enough.
