Toho’s animated “Godzilla” trilogy is reaching its climax with the release of “Godzilla: Planet Eater” on 9th November 2018. But before that, the third installment of the film with get a special advanced screening, to close out the 31st Tokyo International Film Festival in Roppongi on 3rd November 2018!
Set in the distant future where Godzilla’s presence has forced humanity to flee for the stars and irrevocably change the Earth’s entire ecosystem, the film will be directed by Kobun Shizuno and Hiroyuki Seshita, with the screenplay written by Nitroplus’ Gen Urobuchi. Castmembers Mamoru Miyano, Takahiro Sakurai, Kana Hanazawa, Tomokazu Sugita, Yuki Kaji, and Junichi Suwabe will be reprising their roles for the final film.
The first two films in the trilogy “Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters” and “Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle” were released in Japan on 17th November 2017 and 18th May 2018 respectively. They were also released on international streaming service Netflix on 17th January 2018 and 18th July 2018.
