Japanese male pop duo “Tackey & Tsubasa” have officially announced their disbandment as of Monday — 10th September 2018. This follows a year after they announced an indefinite hiatus in September 2017, weeks shy of their 15th anniversary in the Japanese entertainment industry.
They released a joint statement on their agency website, thanking fans for their support as well as asking for their understanding during this difficult time.
Hideaki Takizawa will retire from performing and will instead be working behind the scenes at their agency Johnny & Associates as producer, talent manager, and trainor. His partner Tsubasa Imai, will leave the agency due to illness; he suffers from Meniere’s disease –making it difficult for him to perform at live concerts.
