Japanese multimedia franchise “Toji no Miko” (knows as “Katana Maidens” overseas) — which started out as an original anime series, and later spawned manga and game adaptations, will get its first stage play adaptation from the 10th to the 14th of November 2018.

The stage play stars five members of SKE48: Makiko Saitou, Marika Tani, Yoshino Kitagawa, Saki Takeuchi, and Ryoha Kitagawa. Other castmembers include Sakina Kuwae, Rimo Hasegawa, Rio Taniguchi, Shion Aoki, Wanabi Ai, Mone, Meiku Harukawa, Miwa Asahi, and Seshiru Daigo.

“Toji No Miko” is an original media franchise produced by Genco, co-produced by Crunchyroll, and animated by Studio Gokumi. The story follows the adventures of a special group of school girls who attend five exclusive academies, tasked to destroy mysterious hostile creatures known as “aradama” as sword-wielding shrine maidens called “toji”.
