Originally published in French in April 1943, the novella “The Little Prince” (in French: ‘Le Petit Prince’) written by author/aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is probably one of the most well-known contemporary classical book in the world. The book had been translated into over 300 different languages and recorded a sales of at least two million copies worldwide annually. It even has a museum dedicated to it in Japan, and this museum – ‘The Little Prince Museum’, located amongst the lush natural beauty of Hakone, is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year!

While this is of course reason enough to celebrate, it just so happen that 2018 also marks the 118th Anniversary of the birth of Saint-Exupéry – the author and ‘father’ of this famous literary work. Since the Museum was opened with the main aim of dedicating to the celebration of the life of Saint-Exupéry and his most famous literary creation,, the Museum has announced earlier this week via its official twitter account that there will be a special celebratory event “Romantic Starry Night” taking place  within the Museum’s premises.

“Romantic Starry Night” is a light and illumination projection show that will take place during the winter season. The Museum has announced that voice actor Yuichiro Umehara will be participating in this event as the voice of the story’s ‘Narrator’ – i.e. ‘the Pilot’.

The event will happen from 3 November 2018 to 7 January 2019; at the Parc du Petit Prince outdoor space/gardens within the Museum’s premises. The event is basically a free-to-attend one at no extra surcharge (since visitors are already required to pay a flat fee for the entrance ticket for the Museum).

The seiuyuu himself has autographed on copies of the books archived within the Museum to help in promoting the event.
