Some sad news for Jrock fans, as former nano.RIPE member and drummer Yuuki Aoyama has passed away. According to the band’s official twitter page, Aoyama passed away due to acute heart failure. He was 29.

Aoyama will have a private memorial service for close relatives. However, nano.RIPE themselves will be having a special tribute for the fans, which they will be announcing soon.

The drummer joined the band back in 2013, but left a few years later in 2016. However, his impact in the band is deeply felt by its members. During that short period, he contributed to many anime songs. These include theme songs for The Devil is a Part-Timer!, Food Wars! The Second Plate, GLASSLIP, Hanasaku Iroha: Home Sweet Home, Non Non Biyori, Non Non Biyori Repeat, and Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle.

Aoyama comes from a family of drummers, as his late father, Jun Aoyama, was a particularly famous one. Meanwhile, his brother, Hideki, is a support drummer for plenty of popular bands such as JAM Project and Baby Metal.

May he rest in peace.
