The TV anime adaptation of Capcom’s Ace Attorney games is back for a second season. And now, the anime’s staff have announced that its getting a 1-hour TV special! Japanese networks will broadcast the special on 19 January 2019 at around 5:30 pm JST.

The anime special will act as a prequel to the main series, following Phoenix Wright/Ryuuichi Naruhodou in his college days. It will also feature a love triangle, as well as take a look at the rookie years of Mia Fey/Chihiro Ayasato. These stories appeared in the third game of the franchise, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations

The second season of the TV anime is now airing, and continues where the first season left off. Original game director Shu Takumi is once again handling anime production alongside A-1 Pictures for the anime. A few staff members also returned from the first season, including director Ayumu Watanabe and series writer Atsuhiro Tomioka
