Via Comic Natalie: Kouhei Horikoshi has revealed in an interview with TOHO that “My Hero Academia” will be getting a Hollywood live-action film adaptation! Legendary Pictures — who is also behind the live action “Gundam” film project, will be producing the film. “Godzilla” producer Alex Garcia and “Pacific Rim” producer Jay Ashenfelter are both tied to the project, which will be distributed in Japan by TOHO.
“My Hero Academia” is set in a world where people with superpowers (known as “Quirks”) comprise almost 80% of the population. Izuku Midoriya has dreams of one day becoming a Hero not having a Quirk. After a supreme act of bravery, All Might — the world’s greatest Hero, bestows upon Midoriya his own Quirk “One For All”. Midoriya must now face the League of Villains, an evil organization established by All Might’s archenemy, as well as survive the daily trials superhero high school.
