Kumamoto Prefecture’s lovable bear mascot, Kumamon, is getting his own anime! And now, the staff have revealed new details. The new anime’s title is “Mystery of Kumamon”, and Tonko House is handling the design work. They will also handle series composition and story concept, and they even unveiled a new key visual:

But while Tonko House is doing the design work, story concept, and series composition, they won’t be the ones animating the series. Founded by former Pixar art directors, Daisuke Tsutsumi and Robert Kondo, the studio received an Oscar nomination in 2014. This is for their debut work, “The Dam Keeper”.

As for the anime itself, it will have a global distribution. And don’t worry as they previously announced that it will land sometime in 2019. Expect more announcements to arrive in the days ahead.
