Previously kept under wraps to titillate fans, the official character sketch for Maaya Sakamoto’s character in the upcoming “DanMachi” film has finally been revealed! She will be playing a new character named “Artemis”!
However, film staff have stopped short of saying if “Artemis” is the Goddess Artemis, or a non-divine character who is simply named after the Greek Goddess of the Hunt. “DUNGEON ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka” (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?), affectionately known to anime fans as “DanMachi”, has announced that the release of the all-new theatrical version on 15th Feburary 2019.
Aside from Sakamoto, the VA cast of the DanMachi anime will be reprising their roles for the movie. Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Inori Minase, Maaya Uchida, Yoshimasa Hosoya, and Soma Saito will return as Bell, Hestia, Liliruca, Welf, and Hermes respectively. The screenplay will be written by original DanMachi light novel author Fujino Oomori.
Written by Oomori and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda, the story follows the adventures of Bell, a novice adventurer serving the goddes Hestia, as he challenges the many levels of the huge Dungeon that looms over their town. Along the way, he falls in love with the expert swordswoman Ais, unaware that Hestia has started to harbour feelings for him.
