Fashionable manga-ka Ai Yazawa — best known for her work on “Nana” and “Paradise Kiss”, will be contributing several illustrations to the upcoming men’s fashion book “Street Trad“.

Her art will cover the Swing Kids of 1930s Germany, as well as the punk and rock looks that graced the pages of her bestselling manga. She will be contributing 31 illustrations in total.

Ai Yazawa’s two bestselling titles, “Nana” and “Paradise Kiss”, both feature fashion and music as major influences in the characters lives. In “Nana”, as vocalist of the rock band Black Stones, Nana Osaki wears punk-inspired apparel along the lines of Vivienne Westwood and Jean-Paul Gaultier.

Meanwhile, “Paradise Kiss” heroine Yukari “Caroline” Hayasaka seeks to become a fashion model with the support of her friends from the eponymous atelier “Paradise Kiss”.
