In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of classic youkai (i.e. Japanese spirits/demons) series “Gegege no Kitaro” originally created by ‘Youkai Master’ Shigeru Mizuki, Tokyo-based mori-girl style fashion brand “Favorite” that specialises in whimsically-designed one-piece dresses have collaborated with the production committee of the classic series’ 6th anime season and revealed an all-new delightful range of one-piece outfits and dresses that are neither ghostly nor scary – in fact just the opposite of! Because they are simply adorable to behold!
This time round’s collaboration outfits took inspirational basis from six characters – the protagonist Kitaro Hakaba (lit. ‘Kitaro of the Graveyard’) and his dad Medama-Oyaji (lit. ‘Eyeball-Dad’); Neko Musume (lit. ‘Cat Girl’) whom supposedly seem to have romantic interest for Kitaro in nearly all of the anime and live-action movie adaptations; Sunakake-baba (lit. ‘Sand-throwing Hag’); Nezumi-Otoko (lit. ‘Rat Man) and a new original character added in the new 6th season adaptation of the anime series – Agnes the Witch from the Western Youkai Realm. Let’s now take a look at the clothing/outfits inspired by these characters!
