Variety has reported that Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan manga is getting another live-action film adaptation. But this time, it would be Hollywood taking a crack at the live-action adaptation. The Hollywood website confirmed that Warner Brothers finalised the deal last Monday, and they already have a director. They chose acclaimed horror Andy Muschietti to helm the project.

David Heyman, who produced the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films, will be producing the new movie. He will be doing so alongside Japanese-American actor Masi Oka, as well as Andy Muschietti’s sister, Barbara. Oka is currently producing the upcoming Mega Man film, while Andy Muschietti produced “IT”, as well as another horror film, “Mama”.

This is the second time that the bestselling manga is receiving a live-action adaptation. It previously received a 2-part live-action film from Shin Godzilla co-director Shinji Higuchi back in 2015.

However, the film got mixed reviews from fans for not being as “loyal” to the main source story… not to mention not having Levi there. But despite this, the Japanese film still earned US$46 million worldwide.
