Yes folks, you’ve read the headline right, Dance Dance Revolution is getting a live-action Hollywood movie. According to Deadline, Stampede has promoted Cara Fano as Director of Development, Film & TV. And with her promotion, the company is producing a new live-action film based on the popular Japanese dance rhythm game.

But how will they do a film based on that classic rhythm game, you ask? Well, it turns out that its setting will be in a   world on the brink of destruction. And yes, it gets even more ridiculous as the only hope to save it is “to unite through the universal language of dance.” Yep, they’re definitely going there.

Deadline also reported that Stampede will partner with producers J. Todd Harris and Marc Marcum of Branded Pictures Entertainment, as well as IP owner Konami, for the film. Unfortunately, they will be revealing more details about the upcoming game-based film in the days ahead, so stay tuned for more announcements.
