After much speculations, Castlevania producer Adi Shankar has revealed his next project. While speculations state that he’s working with Nintendo for The Legend of Zelda, he’s actually working with a different project. Yes folks, Shankar is adapting Capcom’s Devil May Cry games instead! He even posted this image on twitter:
Meanwhile, IGN has reported that this new animated series will be part of a shared universe. In fact, he told the gaming news site that it “will join Castlevania in what we’re now calling the bootleg multiverse”. As to why he acquired the rights, he said that he “acquired these (Devil May Cry) rights myself so the jabronis in Hollywood don’t f*** this one up too.”
Shankar previously tweeted that he was working with an iconic company to adapt an iconic game. Many speculations stated that it was with Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda. However, with the new announcement, it seems that we shouldn’t be quick to believe the rumors, right?
As of writing, it’s still unknown whether the new animated series will be by Netflix or by other means.
