Kunihiko Ikuhara’s latest project has finally been revealed! The highly respected director of “Revolutionary Girl Utena” and “Mawaru Penguin Drum” will be directing the original anime project “Sarazanmai“, which will star Ayumu Murase, Kouki Uchiyama, Shun Horie, Junichi Suwabe, Mamoru Miyano, and Yoshimasa Hosoya.
“Sarazanmai” will air in April 2019 on Fuji TV’s prestigious “Noitamina” block — which has spawned other critically-acclaimed anime such as “Honey & Clover”, “Mononoke”, “Nodame Cantabile”, “Psycho-Pass”, and “Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress”. “Sarazanmai” will be animated by MAPPA (“Yuri!!! on Ice”, “In This Corner of the World”, “Kakegurui”, “Banan Fish”) and Lapin Track (“Yuri Kuma Arashi”).
