The biggest and most-anticipated Japanese Pop Culture event in the region, C3AFA Singapore 2018, was held last 30th November to 1st December 2018 in the sunny city of Singapore! Returning to the I Love Anisong stage on the fifth anniversary since the debut is the hot rocking vocalist nano!

So Japan has been privileged to sit down with the talented singer-songwriter to chat about upcoming concerts, carreer milestones, and everything else in between. Check it out below!

Welcome back to Singapore. It has been a year since you are back. Is there anything you look forward most about this trip?

Nano: Singapore is a place a really love. The crowds and hospitality is amazing. It has been a year thus it would be great to know how different it would be with that gap. Like how the crowd is going to be different from last year.

You first started out doing English covers for Japanese songs. If you were given the time, is there any song you would wish to do a cover?

Nano: I have not done many covers recently and I have not thought about that. But it would be very interesting to do some covers for rock songs from when I was younger. For example Beatles, Avril Lavigne. Some of the genres that I have not dove into before and look back at my roots. That would be exciting.

Recently, you sang for the theme song of anime “CONCEPTION”. What is the meaning behind the song, “Star light, Star bright”.

Nano: This song is very different from my regular songs which are rather dark and emo. This song is a complete opposite and it is a very happy and positive song. Who does not want to be happy? I hope this song can give smiles to people.

For the song “SAVIOR OF SONG”, you collaborated with “MY FIRST STORY”. Is there any other artistes you would love to work with?

Nano: It is a big hurdle for me but I would surely like to collaborate with some artistes in the future. Not particularly sure which one, but there are many amazing artistes that I like so hopefully one of them.

Your one man live, “A thousand stars” is coming up soon. Could you give us a sneak peek of what the fans can expect from this concert?

Nano: Definitely it is going to be a concert that is one of a kind and one I have personally have not done before. Since it is going to be nearing Christmas, I am planning something to fit the occasion.

Preparing for a symphonic concert, how is it different from preparing for your regular concerts?

Nano: It is very different. As there are so many people working with me, it is a huge project and I got a lot of inspirations from the amazing musicians I was working with.

This is AFA’s 10th year anniversary. Do you have any plans for your own 10th year anniversary?

Nano: Definitely yes! I recently celebrated my 5th year and I can say that these milestones are very important. These milestones tell the fans an important message and thank them for the many years of support. I am really blessed to be at AFA at such an important milestone. Hopefully my 10th year anniversary will be one special one too.

Finally, a message for your fans in Singapore.

Nano: My fans in Singapore are so kind and loving, I just had my autograph session and the fans were so sweet to me. The concerts here are so hyped up and amazing. Thank you so much for your support. My goal is to do a one man concert here one day!
