It looks like we’re getting more of the Goku Dolls very soon! After the success of the TV anime and the live-action film, Jasmine Gyuh’s hilarious yakuza idol manga is now getting a live-action TV adaptation. It will air as part of MBS and TBS’ “Dramaism” programming block, with its premiere on 17 February 2019.

The show will once again feature the cast from the live-action film adaptation. They have confirmed that Jin Shirasu, Reiya Masaki, Masato Hanazawa, Natsumi Okamoto, Ruka Matsuda, Akane Sakanoue, Tetsuya Sugaya, Nana Asakawa, Hitoshi Ozawa, Dori Sakurada, Ren Osugi, and Kouichi Iwaki will all be returning for the TV series.

As for the show itself, it will have a total of six episodes. Keinosuke Hara is returning to direct the series, with Hidehiro Itou also coming back to write the script. Meanwhile, Arisa Komiya and Hideo Nakano will be joining the cast as well.

Here’s how Kodansha describes the manga’s story in English:

Tough gangland retribution takes a disturbingly bright, shiny turn in this insanely guilty pleasure about 3 yakuzas who, as repayment for their failures, must undergo major surgery and become … a hot female idol trio! So what happens when they become the next big pop sensation!?
