Looks like we’re getting more of Boruto’s cool dad, as combined sixth and seventh issues of Shonen Jump magazine have announced that the Naruto Shinden novel is getting a TV anime adaptation. The adaptation will air starting Sunday, 10th February. There, the novel’s story will have a three week-run, though it isn’t clear whether or not it will be part of the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations TV anime, which also airs every Sunday. The magazine did not specify whether it will be a separate TV special which airs alongside Boruto, or will be part of the anime.

The novel itself has three parts, Naruto Shinden, Sasuke Shinden, and Shikamaru Shinden. Each one focuses on the title characters now that they’re parents. Expect the staff to reveal more details about the anime adaptation soon enough.

Mirei Miyamoto wrote Naruto Shinden, while Itashi Shinden writer, Takashi Yano, wrote Shikamaru Shinden. Finally, Jun Esaka wrote Sasuke Shinden. Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto himself illustrated the novel, including all three stories.
