Calling all fans of Japanese pop culture! Join us as The Meadow, Gardens by the Bay transforms into an anime wonderland in the last weekend of March with Sakura Matsuri: Anime Garden 2019! Admission is absolutely free.

Sakura Matsuri: Anime Garden 2019 will be featuring celebrity cosplayers, popular anisong artistes, Japanese pop culture performances, anime screenings, matsuri games, and even a Japanese-themed food bazaar — there’s something for everyone!

Celebrity Cosplayer Meet & Greet

Get up close with your favourite celebrity cosplayers including Thames Malerose from Thailand, MON from Taiwan and the dynamic duo Olivie & Luffy from Hong Kong as they make special appearances at Gardens by the Bay.

Olivie and Luffy are members of the popular Hong Kong cosplay group “V-Project”. Both are veterans of the scene, with a combined 18 years of experience in cosplay as well as song and dance.

From Taiwan, MON has a wide range of cosplay interests. She not only cosplays characters from highly popular Japanese anime and manga, but also from blockbuster Hollywood movies and best-selling games.

Thames Malerose from Thailand is a cosplayer, artist, model, designer, composer, and actor! He has shared his multi-faceted talents to his adoring fans all over the world!

Rithe and Kai are the Singapore representatives to the prestigious World Cosplay Summit, which will be held in Japan this July. The award-winning duo will be at Sakura Matsuri: Anime Garden 2019 to give fans a sneak peek of what they will bring to the world stage!

Speaking of Singapore talents, local groups Tokimeki JUMP and Natsuiro Party will be bringing their brand of bright and bubbly Japanese-inspired pop to Sakura Matsuri: Anime Garden 2019! Bring your penlight and cheer these super-cute performers!

What’s an Anime Garden without anime?! Check out these free popular movies for free! On 30 March Saturday, join Shinnosuke and friends as they go on another hilarious romp in Crayon Shinchan The Movie: Bakumori! Kung Fu Boys -Ramen Chaos- . On 31 March Sunday, prepare a handkerchief as critically-acclaimed film A Silent Voice tugs at your heartstrings.

Last but not least is the highlight of the event for many fans: the Sakura Matsuri: Anime Garden 2019 Anisong Concert! This year’s line-up boasts of another set of stellar Japanese acts, which include shining new vocalist ASCA, highly popular talent Ayaka Ohashi, pioneering anisong DJ Hachioji P / KUMONOSU [Hachioji P x HANAE], fan favourite Megumi Nakajima, and fast-rising star ReoNa!
