Ladies and gentlemen, it looks like an era is about to end. According to
Sokuho@Hokanko, Sony will be halting the production of several PlayStation Vita models. They are the PCH-2000 ZA11 (black) and PCH-2000 ZA23 (aqua blue).

The producers announced that “shipments are scheduled to end soon” for the two models. However, they did not state when this will exactly happen.

This marks the beginning of the end for the PS Vita, which began its run back in 2011 as a replacement for the aging PSP. Unfortunately, the Vita didn’t live up to the expectations and lost the portable console rivalry to the Nintendo 3DS. However, while it did not click with international markets, it did gain considerable success back in Japan.
